Franklin Tree Partners is named after a tree, Franklinia alatamaha, at the Arnold Arboretum here in Boston.
The Franklin tree is known today because it was intentionally preserved. A small number of people recognized something worth keeping and made the decision to carry it forward.
That idea is at the center of how I think about ownership.
